Pelikan 1998 "Expo 2000 - Humankind" Limited Edition fountain pen. In anticipation of "Expo 2000" to be held in October of the Millennium year in Hanover, Germany, Pelikan Pen Co. designed three piston- fill pens styled in the "Souveran" M800 series to commemorate the three themes of the event: Humankind, Nature, and Technology. This pen is serial number #1055 of 1998 pens. The cap and barrel base are of a dark red acrylic with clip, accents and barrel center section in gold-plated sterling silver (vermeil). Barrel section is engraved in a twisting replication of DNA. It is fitted with a two-toned, 18k Pelikan "OBB" nib. Mint in boxes with all papers.
