Lot of 10. Letters and documents from ten Civil War Generals. Two date to 1873 and relate to the reunion (one acceptance, one unable to attend), seven date to 1889 and are either thank yous or requests for copies of Boynton's letters on the Battles of Chickamauga and Chattanooga (these are addressed to Henry M. Cist), and the last is a Civil War Morning Report for the First Brigade, Second Division for May 16, 1863. In alphabetical order: John Rutter Brooke (1838-1926); Gideon Clark (1822-1892); Edmund L. Dana (1817-1889); William Watts Hart Davis (1820-1910; this is the MR); Francis Jay Herron (1837-1902; MOH Pea Ridge; youngest Union Major General); Charles L. Leiper (1842-1899); John Smith Littell (1822-1901); David McCreary (1826-1906); Galusha Pennypacker (1844-1916); and Horatio Gates Sickel (1817-1890). Condition: In expected or better condition with very light toning, usual folds. Five also have accompanying lithographs, ready for framing with the documents.
