Woodcut Spanish royal arms on title, type-ornament title border, historiated initial, printer's device at end, 6 folding etchings. (Some light spotting, tiny tear in one plate.) Modern limp boards. RARE, with 6 etchings not called for. Don Ferdinando Granduke of Tuscany commemorated the death of Philip II of Spain with a funeral in the church of San Lorenzo at Florence on 12 November 1598, officiated by the Archbishop of Pisa. Senator Donato dell'Antella was appointed to supervise the decoration of both the interior and the exterior of the church, and it is this decoration, including the catafalque, which is recorded in the rare etchings.
