Woodcut Aldine device on title and verso of final leaf. 17th-century sheep gilt, covers with the centrally placed arms of comte Armand de Monchy D'Hoquincour, bishop of Verdun [Olivier 2042], surrounded by a semée of fleur-de-lys alternating with mallets, spine in seven compartments with raised bands, red morocco lettering-pieces in two, the others with overall gilt tooling, g.e. (covers with slight damage to the surface of the leather.) Provenance : Armand de Monchy D'Hoquincour (1637-1679, inscription, dated 29 August 1669, noting the presentation of the book to:); Jesuit College Verdun (to be given to); Louis Genin (as a second prize for Greek oratory); Milton Hall, Peterborough (booklabel). A FINE COPY OF THE EDITIO PRINCEPS IN GREEK.
