Colin Cole Portcullis Pursuivant College of Arms' to upper corner of each, front free endpaper with short closed marginal tears, front pastedown with armorial bookplate 'Alexander Colin Cole CVO TD FSA Garter Principal King of Arms', hinges strengthened, contemporary calf, previously rebacked, spine deficient, boards worn with some losses to extremities, folio In 1648 Anselm van Hulle was sent by his patron the Prince of Orange to M�nster, there to make portait paintings of the delegates to the Peace of M�nster. The first group of portraits were published in 1648. This edition of 1696 was the first to contain his full collection of related portraits - 131 in all, plus an additional engraved title-page and additonal commentry in both Latin and Dutch. (1)
