A pair of alphabetised albums, circa 1967-92, containing neatly typed sheets listing by actor details of fees received and dates for film, tv and radio work, etc., actors include Laurence Olivier (fees varying from 2 for Kaleidoscope of BBC Radio 4 to 1 million dollars (sterling equivalent, plus car and chauffeur and all expenses for the film 'Jigsaw Man' in 1982), John Gielgud, Ralph Richardson, Albert Finney, Donald Sinden, Anthony Quayle, John Mills, Peter Hall Rex Harrison, Tony Britton, Rachel Roberts Kenneth More, Joan Plowright, and others, all neatly typed chronologically and in columns on rectos of plain sheets with punch holes in 2 contemporary binders with alphabet thumb markers, labelled A-L and M-Z on spines, small oblong folio, together with a visitors' book [presumably Evans' home at Chesworth House], completed on rectos of 9 leaves only for 6 January 2003, bearing signatures in black felt tip of Donald Sinden, George Cole Patricia Hodge, Sheridan Morley, Tony Britton, and many unidentified family friends, synthetic boards, oblong folio The two albums of actor fees offer an extraordinary insight into the acting world and the negotiating skills of one of the most successful British theatrical agents of the time.
