Presenting with extraordinary scale, the present Pomme is enhanced with a beautiful gold patina with variegated hues and tonalities that add further depth and three-dimensionality to the sculpture. The bronze surfaces present with extremely minor surface irregularities and minute pinholes inherent to the making and common for works by Claude Lalanne The patina application with some very minor occasional irregularities inherent to the making. This work is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. An exceptional and monumental example from the artist’s celebrated series, the first example of which to ever appear at auction.
