Beschreibung:

Although retaining all the traditional characteristics that made them unique, the Harley-Davidsons of the 1970s began to incorporate some of the technological developments that had become the accepted norm on European and Japanese machines. Disc brakes and electronic ignition were commonplace on Harleys by the decade's end, by which time the convenience of electric starting had been extended to the Sportster model. The latter benefited from a capacity increase (to 1,000cc) for 1972 and in 1978 gained the superior twin-downtube cradle frame of the short-lived XLCR Café Racer. In 1982 a new welded frame was introduced, which was both stronger and lighter than the traditional lugged type it replaced. This Harley-Davidson Sportster was first registered in the UK in June 1992 to the late owner and comes complete with its old California license plate. The machine benefits from a recently reconditioned alternator but has not been used for some time and will require re-commissioning before returning to the road. Offered with Swansea V5.
