Beschreibung:

Two leaves to which Meir Ariel copied by hand Psalm 104 [mid 1980s]. Psalms 104 praises G-d, praises the creation and the harmonious and rich nature which G-d created. In an interview with Yoav Friedman, published on the Ynet site in 2010, Shachar Ariel, Meir Ariel's son, told that in the poems and songs which his father composed in his last years it is obvious that his faith strengthened, and he "was secretly a Baal Teshuva". He added that during the last 10 years of his life his father did not perform on Shabbat and "at a certain stage, the hat turned to be a head-cover, at least as far as inner intention was concerned". Ariel continues and tells that his father studied Talmud daily "and he felt a great sorrow when I came to call him to a performance and he felt as if he was torn from Talmud". From the leaves presented here, it is understood that Ariel was very thorough in his study and on the margins of leaves, next to the version of the Psalm he copied other verses and passages from the text. There are twenty such examples. [2] leaves, 31.5 cm. The second leaf is written on both sides. Good condition. Torn off a notebook. Several stains.
