Responsum by Rabeinu Shlomo Ben Aderet (Rashba). Vienna, 1812. Tens of glosses handwritten by the Ga'on of Brashov, Rabbi David Shparber (1875-1962, Otzar 5075) was among Galicia and Romania's leading Rabbis. He was born in Zablatov, to family of Vizhnitzer Chasidim. Disciple of Rabbi Meir Arik. He began to serve in rabbinate in 1908, and became rabbi of Brashov in 1928. He wrote Afarkesta Di'aniya, Michtam LeDavid, and other compositions on all areas of Torah. He is well-known for releasing women whose husbands were lost in the holocaust from their status as married women, by halachic means, thus enabling them to remarry. In 1949 he made aliya, and was among the directors of “Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah” On the last leaves owner's signature: Yehudah Ya'akov Kahana. [Rabbi Yehuda Ya'akov grandson of author of "Kuntress Ha-Sfekot" and father of Rabbi Shmuel Sanwil of Munkacz, author of "Zichron Shmuel" on Baba Kama – see enclosed material about him). [2], 153 leaves, 37 cm. Poor condition, serious moth damages.
