IN A RICHLY GILT CONTEMPORARY BINDING; gold-tooled morocco, central medallions on both covers, upper cover with Christ on the cross in a surround of sun-beams, lower cover with the Madonna and child in a surround of stars, both tooled to a panel with Ionic capitals and a pattern of rectangular fields with scrolls and a variety of ornaments including stars, crescent moons and diadems, in a trellis border with reserved ovals (lacking ties, upper fore-corners rubbed).
