Roosevelt"), also inscribed on page 12, beneath the color portrait of FDR: "Franklin D. Roosevelt, for John Nance Garner, April 14, 1937." The volume contains the text of FDR's acceptance speech to the Democratic National Convention (his famous "Rendez-vous with Destiny" address). Other signes include Senate Majority Leader Joseph R. Robinson Democratic Whip Alben W. Barkley, Secretary of State Cordell Hull, Treasury Secretary Henry Morgenthau, Attorney General Homer Cummings, Postmaster General James A. Farley, Secretary of the Navy Claude Swanson, Interior Secretary Harold Ickes, Commerce Secretary Henry A. Wallace, and R.F.C. chairman Jesse Jones. According to Halter "The book was probably published early in 1937 and given to all who had contributed a stated amount. The name of the recipient was goldstamped on the front cover." Halter T119.
