The Baroque painter writes to his friend Ricciardi (1624-1686), man of letters and a reader in moral philosophy at Pisa. 'Ne mi potete dire ch'io v'amoreggio la quiete con le mie conti nose lamentationi poiche ... ho represo i versi per favellar con voi d i cose meno molinariche. Per Amor di Christo non m'agiungete piu amaretto che vi ho tanto che potrei dispensarne a tutto il settentrion[al]e. Ne ho altro di vivo nell'Animo ch'el merito vostro il vostro Amore ... '.
