Ruby Bateman Mothering Love Ink on Paper Signed on Verso 15 x 10cm (5¾ x 3¾ in.) About Ruby Bateman is a visual artist, working and living in London. Her work is often self-referential, (re)depicting and translating imagery across different materials and processes. In her drawings and paintings, Ruby often explores her relationship to (institutionalised) motherhood with a richly colourful and symbolic visual language, referencing her own fiction. It is therefore a pleasure for me to create a series of drawings for charity, supporting womxn in need and bringing their stories to attention. My postcards explore 'freedom and love' from a womxn's perspective, in all its variations and joy.
