Russian Royalty Two autograph albums belonging to Baron Robert Stuker containing over 700 autograph inscriptions and signatures, including by Nicholas II (Nicolas II Empereur de toutes les Russies Peterhof le 25 Août 1904"), Maria Feodorovna ("Peterhof 2 Août 1904...Impératrice de Russie..."), George, Prince of Wales (the future George V), Kaiser Wilhelm II ("...Achilleon 23/IV 1912"), and many other members of the Russian, Greek, Danish, German, and British royal families in the early part of the twentieth century, as well as diplomats, dignitaries and other acquaintances c.185 pages in all, plus blanks, 4to (each c.22 x 17.5cm), two leather bindings, one with a gilt crown to upper cover, the other with gilt lettering to upper cover ("St. Pétersbourg 1900"), 1903-1983, St. Petersburg, Athens, Rome and elsewhere, some gatherings loose, some modern repairs with translucent adhesive tape, light wear to covers Two remarkable albums belonging to the diplomat, translator and historian Baron Robert Stuker (1863-1940), an eyewitness to many of the political convulsions in the early part of the twentieth century. Employed from 1890 as a tutor to the Greek royal princes, Stuker became a personal advisor to the George I of Greece, later being used on diplomatic missions to St. Petersburg, Constantinople, London and Berlin. Between 1924 and 1935 Stuker acted as a translator and master of ceremonies at the Vatican.
