(6 3/8 x 4 1/8 x 1 1/4in.), brown levant morocco, covers with greek key border enclosing gilt initials OG on upper cover and gilt lyre on lower cover; spine in six compartments with five raised bands, gilt-lettered in one compartment, a repeated ornamental gilt panel in the rest; board edges with double gilt fillet, doublures of dark green morocco gilt tooled with swirling leaf sprays and onlaid red morocco flowers, upper doublure set with an OVAL PORTRAIT MINIATURE OF OLIVER GOLDSMITH (65 x 55m., 2 9/16 x 2 1/16in.), framed in metal and recessed with gilt dotted tooled frame supported above and beneath by recessed trefoils, gilt tooled and each set with 3 PEARLS, olive green watered silk endpages, g.e., stamp-signed on lower doublure with the binders' cipher and gilt stamped: "Bound for Chas. J. Sawyer, Ltd., London," lower joint cracked, upper joint rubbed.
