Sarah Victoria Spence Eye of Water II Watercolour, Gouache, India Ink on Fabriano Paper Signed on Verso 10 x 15cm (3¾ x 5¾ in.) About Sarah is a mixed media artists working in diverse paint mediums, ink, charcoal and collage. Her art is inspired by the forces of human nature and the impact those forces have on the natural world. She injects a playfulness into her work that contrasts oftentimes directly with the darker underbelly of her subject matter. Creating is often a birds eye view of the world which endeavours to find that ethereal space where reality and the imagined become confused compelling an unravelling of the voice within the work by the viewer. Sarah enjoys the duality of medium and message and the potential uncertainties of communication and miscommunication that can ensue. Sarah has exhibited widely and she has curated a number of exhibitions locally to where she lives. Education Sarah studied Fine Art at the University of Kent. She also has a MSc in Speech and Language Therapy, and often uses art within her work as a therapist. The work I prepared for AoaP reflects imagined seas and the brutality with which these fountains of life are treated.
