A profusely annotated copy of an early edition of Seneca’s philosophical works (letters, essays and treatises), without the tragedies (at the time not attributed to him), but with the rhetorical works now ascribed to his father. Some initials in red, partly rubricated (soiled, stained, first and last few leaves crudely repaired, occasional light worming). Modern vellum, gilt spine title, author and title in ink on lower edge (darkened). Provenance: Aymonis Secundi, jurist and scholar of Turin (inscription dated 1724).
