Lot of 48, 4 x 6.5 in., photographs documenting the construction of Kansas City Union Station, some titled in the negative by the photographer, ca. 1914. The large station was designed by Jarvis Hunt At the time, it was the second largest train station in the country and during its peak travel period accommodated 670,000 passengers in 1945. As train travel declined, so did the state of the building. It closed in the 1980s, but by 1996 it was restored and reinvented into a series of large museums.
