The autograph letter is a brief note of thanks for greetings - 'Your memory is admirable'. The typed letter, to Sir Ronald Storrs, thanks him for birthday greetings, congratulates Storrs on his own 70th birthday, and asks him to pass a message to Sir Thomas Beecham -- 'He will come to Finland this spring and I hope to see him then'. Sir Ronald Storrs (1881-1955) was described by T.E. Lawrence as 'the most brilliant Englishman in the Near East'; famously cultivated, he served in a number of postings, including as the first British Governor of Jerusalem, from 1917 to 1926. (2)
