Beschreibung:

Lot of 20, consisting of 4 sixth plate and 16 ninth plate octagonal union cases, all bearing geometric designs. Many classified in Berg as "Scarce," with one "Rare" example [3-388]. Cases contain twenty ambrotype and tintype portraits of men and women. Some subjects wear jewelry and other clothing accents highlighted in gold, among which are a young woman wearing a brooch, earrings, and two rings; a gentleman with a gold watch chain; a woman in a striped dress with several rings and a gold parure; and a mature lady wearing a brooch and lace gloves.
