The solid silver engine was created when a leading London Silversmith was commissioned to produce a solid silver, fully detailed ‘J’ Duesenberg. Being well known as Duesenberg enthusiasts with a wealth of data on the make, the Wingroves were approached for assistance. They supplied drawings and photos of the car and chassis, and allowed for silver parts to be cast from their engine masters. This second engine was cast at the same time and provided with gold plating on the engine block which would be enamelled green on the full size engine.
