St Christopher - Charles Sykes. A particularly rare mascot designed by Charles Sykes, depicting a monk-style figure, dressed in a hooded robe, the original bronze having a good patina, the square base inscribed St Christopher at the front, and C. Sykes at the rear, 4in (10cm) high, not display-mounted. Possibly one of the first mascots ever created for use on a motor-car, it is believed that the design was specifically created for use on the current Lord Montagu’s father’s 1899 Daimler.
