This is one of his first test photos. On March 24, 1854, he sent an article on his new method to the journal Cosmos. Gustave Le Gray recognized the value of the method in La Lumiere (article of June 24, 1854). Lot Amendments Condition: Chipping to left edge, some cracks and scratches; about very good.
