Beschreibung:

Portugal 17. Jh. Holz, vollrund geschnitzt, polychrom gefasst und partiell vergoldet. Stehender bärtiger Heiliger auf Natursockel mit weisendem Gestus, bekleidet mit einem kurzen Gewand in feiner Schnitzerei mit Brokatbemalung, Hals- und Armkrausen sowie Stiefeln. Wohl Teil einer Krippen- oder Altargruppe bzw. eines höfischen Ensembles.

Starke Altersspuren. Partiell Fehlstellen, Fassungsverluste, ber., Trocknungsrisse, ein Finger altrest.


Standing Saint, presumably part of an altar piece


Portugal 17th C. Wood, carved, painted in polychrome colours and gilt. Upright standing bearded saint on a naturalistic base with pointing gesture, dressed in a short robe in fine carving and brocade painting, with ruffs on arms and neck, wearing boots. Presumably part of a cot or an altarpiece resp. courtly scene.
H 50, W 18 cm.

Condition report:
Considerable signs of age. Partially missing parts, paint loss, rubbed, drying cracks, one finger restored.
