Beschreibung:

STRANGE SUSPENSE STORIES No. 3 Author: Place: Publisher: Date: Description: Fawcett (Indicia: "Fawcett Publications, Inc."). October, 1952. VG- (3.5). Small chips to top spine, top edge of front and back covers, and bottom corner of front cover, bottom corner a bit curled. Small distributor's mark in ink near "S" in "SUSPENSE," larger penciled distributor's mark below logo ("M 7/23"). Cream paper, edges tan. George Evans cover. No script credits. Art by George Evans Bernard Baily, Morris "Mo" Marcus. Fawcett published five issues of Strange Suspense Stories in 1952-53. George Suarez explains how the title became a Charlton property with an entirely different numbering system in Terrology #11: "Charlton bought the name from Fawcett when that company folded its comic lineup. Strange Suspense Stories was 'fused' with the company's own Lawbreaker's Suspense Stories, a crime comic which had already run for 15 issues. The new magazine validates the change in title with stories devoted to the most horrific kinds of murder, larceny and similarly extreme felonies." Lot Amendments Condition: Item number: 324215a
