Engraved title vignettes, 3 illustrations, 35 head- and 34 tailpieces, 1 folding hand-coloured engraved map of Greece, 2 engraved portraits of Nicholas Revett (one a proof on india paper, mounted), 1 portrait of Stuart only (a proof, on india paper, mounted) and 369 engraved plates, plans and maps after Stuart and Revett, 6 folding, 3 double-page. (Lacking subscribers' list in vol. I, portrait of Stuart, and errata from vol. II, appreciable browning to about half the plates in vol. I and 20 plates in vol. IV, numerous plates in vol. II with old dampstain, small tear to fold of map of Attica in vol. III.) Contemporary calf, covers with large inset paper panels (rebacked, vol. I rebacked twice, worn). Provenance : William Burn (book label). FIRST EDITION, including both the later published volumes. The present set has plate XXIX, chapter I, vol. II omitted as usual, and the map of Delos (plate VI, chapter X, vol. III) is from the state with the title and plate number but without the scale. Cf. Fowler 340 (vols. I-III); cf. Harris 857 (vols.
