Title woodcut depicting the birth of Caesar, repeated on a1r, and 72 smaller woodcuts (including a few repeats), white-on-black woodcut ornamental initials, a few initial spaces with guide letters. (Two small wormholes through first 20 leaves, several wormholes affecting last 35 leaves, occasional light dampstain to extreme outer margins.) Contemporary German quarter blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, with floral stamps and lozenge and floral roll-tools, two brass catches (lacking clasps, minor worming, small stain to upper cover). Provenance : shelfmarks 30 and 547 inked on fore-edge; F. Z. M. Fr. Ritt(er) v.
