This splendid Retro necklace and earrings suite in fourteen karat yellow gold exhibits a bold, abstract style favored in post-war America by a growing class of elegant consumers. Interestingly, the necklace is, in fact, a sliding lariat in which the stovepipe chain can be adjusted through the flourish shaped pendant bead set with rubies. Displaying a bright and saturated pink hue, the round, faceted stones are further enhanced by engraved star motifs surrounds. The ends of the lariat are completed by conical finials accented by a millegrain edged row of additional rubies. There are sixteen rubies in all, totaling an estimated weight of 0.59 carats. For ease of wear, the necklace has also been completed with a low-profile tension set fold-over clasp for a streamlined look. Conceived as a cohesive set, the stovepipe chain and scrolling flourish are repeated in the matching earrings as well. They have also been bead set in engraved stars with eight additional round, faceted rubies, totaling an estimated weight of 0.40 carats.
