WITH: "News Conference / Scientific Review of the Preliminary Findings of Surveyor I." Washington, D.C., NASA News, June 16, 1966. With extensive illustrations.

Surveyor 1 successfully demonstrated the technology needed to land and operate on the lunar surface. An important step to the first crewed Moon landing just 3 years later.
