A very fine 18K vari-coloured gold Louis XV-style openface keyless cylinder watch with detachable matching chatelaine Unsigned, No. 8674, circa 1880 Keyless jewelled cylinder movement, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, circular pink gold case with chased and applied yellow and white gold foliate decoration, the reverse centred by a vari-coloured gold pastoral scene of a dog kicking over a basket of flowers trying to reach for a pair of doves on a floral wreath hanging above, together with a matching vari-coloured gold chatelaine with a similar scene, unsigned, case and cuvette numbered 31.5 mm. diam. & 142 mm. overall length.
