The Collection of Geraldine and Harold AldenRobert Motherwell1915 - 1991
Summer Hoursigned with the initials RM and dated 84 (upper right)acrylic and printed paper collage on canvas mounted on board36 by 24 in.91.4 by 61 cm.Executed in 1984.Condition reportThis work is in very good condition overall. The collage elements are stable and intact. There is evidence of excess glue residue surrounding the collaged elements, which has a slight sheen and is inherent to the artist’s working method. There is evidence of wear to the edges and corners of the board, including light cracking and resulting minor pinpoint losses, all of which is not visible when framed. Along the lower and left edges, there is a 1/2 inch band of linear discoloration, which is also obscured by the frame. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, the aforementioned glue residue fluoresces brightly but is not the result of restoration. Framed under Plexiglas.
Framed dimensions: 41 by 28 3/4 in. (104.1 by 73 cm.)
