Contemporary red morocco gilt, black morocco "IHS" onlay, spine in 6 compartments. Rebacked retaining original backstrip, small tears in a few maps, light toning and foxing. Provenance: Admiral Sir Graham Eden Hamond, 2nd Baronet G.C.B. (1779-1862) (Armorial bookplate). An elaborate 18th century binding, with a tipped-in presentation leaf with calligraphic inscription: "The Gift of Mrs. Hearle to her goddaughter and grandchild Lucy Kimber, 1756."
