Beschreibung:

includes both the battle flag and both flank flags. Each flank flag is constructed of silk, 19" x 30" with 2.5" metallic braid on three sides, modeled generally after the Confederate First National pattern, with blue silk canton with eleven, 5-pointed stars made of applied metallic thread and sequins, with a central medallion of gilt arched gilt stenciling reading Kennedy's/Battalion/of/Orleans!, with red, white, red stripes on fly, with sewn sleeve-type hoist, total length 33" x total width 24". The central battle flag is in the same pattern with ring of 10 stars with single star in center, all of metallic threads, total length 69" x total width 48". Two of the flags have been professionally restored, and archivally mounted. The third flag is mounted between plexiglas, but not yet archivally restored. As far as we have been able to ascertain, this grouping is the only complete standard of Confederate flags in existence. Accompanied by a complete description and letter of authenticity from Howard Madaus. Condition: Each flank flag has heavy to near total deterioration of white strip on the fly, and slight fading on the red, minor loss to gilt lettering on one and many small holes on canton on the other with some scattered holes on red of fly, still VG- to VG. The Battle flag has professional repaired holes using red or white linen on reverse, minor bleed of red to white, very fine restoration, VG.
