(3) At the Great Exhibition class XII was "Woollen & Worsted" and class XV "Mixed Fabrics including shawls, but exclusive of Worsted goods". Kerr & Scott were makers of Paisley shawls, and by 1862, as Kerr, Scott & Kilner, they were established in the City of London
