(Folio) 15¾x9¾, period full calf, rebacked with original spine laid down, corners repaired, custom cloth folder and slipcase. With a continuation of the history by George Henry Maynard. Engravings after drawings by Metz, Stothard, and Corbould and engraved by American Artists. An early work of American engraving, the plates proudly labeled as "Engraved for the American Edition...". An inscription in an early hand on the inside of the front cover reads: "J.B. Penington, Dover, Del. Bought at the sale of the books of Henry Stout, Esq." There was a New York edition the same year, also by Pechin. According to ABPC, no copies of this Baltimore imprint have appeared at auction for almost 30 years. WorldCat locates only 2 copies.
