Lot of 2, including a stuffed leather postcard depicting Theodore Roosevelt in safari costume, with a revolver in one hand and a gazelle in the other, signed in the leather Onslow Iowa. 3.5 x 8.5 in.; and a postcard, which also serves as a coin purse, in the shape of Roosevelt's leather pants, featuring a cartoon of Roosevelt in safari costume, plus the following phrase: Wouldn't this give you a fit! / If in Teddy's Pants you were hit! Marked B & Co., St. Joseph, Michigan on reverse side, with remnants of postage stamp, plus illegible name and address. 4 x 5.5 in. Provenance: Jim and Pat Gifford Collection of Political Americana Condition: Expected wear to leather, with some significant wear to Roosevelt's feet, which have been painted over. The Roosevelt figure has undergone some stitching at some points to keep it from loosing stuffing. Small water spot below Roosevelt's mouth.
