.80 bore, 42" barrel. Birmingham proofs on top of barrel. Original flint. Tower markings on lockplate with crown and GR underneath the pan. Brass buttplate, trigger guards, sideplates, and nosecap. Bayonet lug on top of barrel. Condition: Barrel is grey-to-brown having a grease applied to preserve the barrel - which is turning yellow with light salt and pepper pitting. Heavy pitting in the touchhole section of barrel and around the end of the muzzle. Lockplate basically is a grey-to-brown finish with heavy pitting in the pan and around the frizzen. Stock with numerous dings and mars. Piece of wood is missing at bottom of the lockplate - going from rear tit of lockplate running to the frizzen spring tit. Piece of wood missing starting 1" from front sidelock screw running along the bottom of the lockplate up to the front sidelock screw. Wood has darkened with numerous scratches dings and mars. All brass hardware has a tarnished look. A late variation of a Second Model Short Land Pattern musket. A good example of an American Revolutionary War musket.
