In-16 (143 x 83 mm). Maroquin rouge, filets droits et au pointillé dorés en encadrement, large décor "à l’éventail" aux petits fers composé d’une rosace centrale losangée et écoinçons, dos à nerfs orné de petits fers dorés, roulette intérieure (Reliure attribuable à Le Gascon). Emboîtage moderne.Papier uniformément jauni. Taches brunes sur les plats. Dos de l’étui passé.
Gracieuse reliure "à l’éventail" attribuable à Le Gascon.
Exemplaire réglé.
Rare édition réputée pour la révision du texte due au jésuite hollandais Heribert Rosweyde.
Une gravure à pleine page de Jérôme Wierix.
Relieur et doreur, Le Gascon fut actif de 1620 à 1653 environ. Son travail soigné et l’inventivité de ses décors en fit un relieur estimé.
