In the "Advertisement", Thomas Pennant acknowledges that "the Rev. Mr. Hugh Davies rector of Aber, in Caernarvonshire, underwent the task of arranging the very numerous subjects of the Indian Faunula" for this work (as well as assisting John Latham with the section on insects).
