The Tin Woodman of the "Magical Land of Oz" announces Jean Gros' French Marionettes.
Chicago: Reilly & Lee Co., 1928]. (140 x 90 mm). Color lithographed die-cut bookmark. Condition : very light soiling to verso; unbent. Provenance : Fred M. Meyer Collection. rare lucky ‘oz’ picture advertising a puppet play written by ruth plumly thompson . Thompson dramatized Ozma of Oz (1907) as “The Magical Land of Oz” for the national tour of this celebrated marionette company. The picture of the Tin Woodman was reprinted from the right side of the endpaper in The Patchwork Girl of Oz (1913). A list of the Oz Books through The Giant Horse of Oz (1928) appears on the verso of this bookmark. [With:] Would the seating in your schools reflect discredit on them if studied from the posture standpoint? Advertisement for American Seating Co., Chicago, clipped from School Board Journal (July 1929), p. 17. Condition : minor tears and creases. Provenance : Fred M. Meyer Collection. the scarecrow, patchwork girl and tin woodman advertise classroom furniture. “Used by permission of Reilly & Lee Company, the publishers.” [And:] RODGERS, Irene.
