Thorkild G. Henningsen (b. København 1884, d. s.p. 1931) Arts and Craft stained pine wood corner bookcase. Front with three drawers and shelves, flanked by 3/4 columns with flutes, brass fittings. And a stained beech armchair, with green upholstery in the seat and back. Made by cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen, Copenhagen, 1923. H. 94. L. 147. W. 107 cm. (2) Provenance: Cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen's grandson. Presented as interior from terraced house 1923. The furniture subsequently became part of the furnishings in Johannes Hansen's mother's terraced house in Frederiksberg, where she moved after the death of her husband, former Minister of Agriculture Ole Hansen, in 1928.
