Lot Description: Three Early 19th Century Knitted and Beaded European Caps , of a size suitable for a baby or doll. The first, with a cream ground and the addition of vibrant turquoise glass beads, is designed with a star to the crown, two full beaded borders and a part border on the top front. In between the design features undulating, raised lines. The second cap benefits from a beaded swirl design to the tiny crown, followed by a regular design in gold for the main section, finishing with a small-scale panel of green leaves with red flowers. Edged with white bobbin lace. Later cotton ties added. The final bonnet benefits from a very open work lattice body featuring the tiniest gold glass beads, the circular crown much heavier, the cap then bordered with a frieze of green leaves and pink flowers.
