Two stoneware jugs including, a three-gallon handled jug in ovoid form, stamped P:H SMITH and 3 with cobalt blue highlight and incised band, and a handled jug stenciled in cobalt blue JAS. BENJAMIN / WHOLESALE / STONEWARE / DEPOT. / CINCINNATI. O., stamped 3 at shoulder right of mouth; (tallest) ht. 16.5, dia. 10.5 in. Condition: P:H Smith jug has light irregularity to shape including indent to form at front, and at back below handle. Benjamin jug has two cracks to handle where it meets the body at the shoulder.
