THREE PAIRS OF AUSTRALIAN COLONIAL IRON HANDCUFFS 19TH CENTURY Comprising a pair of 'figure 8' handcuffs and two Hiatt style handcuffs The Hiatt style handcuffs 23.5cm long Estimate $600-800 Condition: The 'figure 8' cuffs are heavily encrusted with old rust throughout, including their moving parts, such that they are fused closed; one of the Hiatt pair is encrusted with old rust, fusing its locks and swivel, but its chain links remain free; the other pair of Hiatt cuffs is more lightly rusted, and it appears they might still be operable, although they are presently closed and no key is present.
