Beschreibung:

Tiffany Studios Bronze and Leaded Favrile Glass Apple Blossom Lamp First quarter of the 20th century The domed shade with a twice repeating motif of branches, mottled semi-opaque creamy pink and white blossoms with yellow centers and semi-translucent mottled green and white, green and amber and green and blue leaves, against a mottled green and opalescent ground, stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK, the Neoclassical style urn-form canister base with three upturned arm supports, on incurved legs ending in paw feet and a circular platform, stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS 5965, three light sockets, pierced metal cap. Height overall 25 1/2 inches, height of shade 6 3/4 inches, diameter 15 3/4 inches. Provenance: Gallery 169, Great Neck, New York, 1981 C
Shade: appears to be in generally good condition; shade is nice and tight; shade appears to be in the round; there are approximately one half dozen individual glass segments that have a hairline crack, notably in the area close to the bottom rim edge; these cracks are tight; no apparent evidence of solder repair or glass replacement; the glass selection changes from opalescent at the top to mottled opalescent and green at the mid-section and mottled green towards the bottom; wear/rubbing to the brown and green patina around the metal rim edges and lead lines; metal tag affixed to the interior bottom ridge edge: TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK Metal cap: sits loosely on the shade and is probably a later replacement Base: the three General Electric light sockets are old, however, they may be later replacements, i.e., not original; each socket has a black plastic G.E. Co. on/off light switch; the upper stem portion of the riser that is surmounted with the socket cluster has a drill hole; the cap or cover portion of the canister base has a large dent and two smaller adjacent dents and there is a small dent to its side; the three upright arms appear to be in good condition; there are some small dings and dents to the bronze body/canister, notably, in the area just below the shoulder; the bronze base has a uniform mottled chocolate brown and rust colored patina, with intermittent hints of green and there is a somewhat strong bond of green patina around the mid-section; uniform dulling to the patina and wear/rubbing to the patina, notably to the top side of the circular platform/tray; the underside is stamped with the company mark and model number; needs to be re-wired; has not been tested to see if the light sockets are in good working condition; the shade fits nicely into the three arm supports
