Includes 9 tintypes: a quarter plate tintype of a gentleman in a military uniform identified as a "Chausseur de Vincennes" or another pre-civil war uniform; a quarter plate tintype of a young soldier armed with a knife; a CDV sized tintype of two soldier, who resemble each other, standing at attention with their rifles and bayonets; a CDV sized tintype of a group of older men wearing ribbons and hat badges, most likely GAR members; a CDV sized tintype of a Union soldier with a pistol in his belt seated with his wife; a sixth plate tintype of a bearded soldier; a sixteenth plate of an officer in uniform; a gem sized tintype of a soldier identified as A.S. Gilman on the reverse of the mat; a CDV sized tintype of a Zouave soldier in uniform with a badge, most likely post civil war or in a guard unit; and a full plate tintype of a little girl. As well as a glass slide of officer, presumably General Winfield Scott. There are two A.S. Gilman's in Union records, Alanzo S. Gilman, 3rd Maine Light Artillery, discharged for disability on March 13, 1862, and Andrew S. Gilman, 1st New Hampshire Heavy Artillery, discharged for disability February 18, 1865. Condition: Most are in good condition two images have darkened and some of surface scratches and wear. All but two are not cased, one that is cased lacks its cover.
