Some portions had been published as early as 1829; the N.T. was completed in 1832; the O.T. not until February 1839. Some copies of the N.T. are dated 1835; some lack the date at the end of the O.T. A team of eight men, working directly from the Hebrew and the Greek, completed the translation, utilizing the most intelligent of the natives to arrive at a correct interpretation of the more difficult passages. Lot Amendments Condition: Board edges rubbed, rear cover nearly detached, the massive page block split entirely in 2 pieces near the center; worming throughout, inoffensive in most cases but with some more extensive worming near the center resulting in some loss of text, two leaves torn and detached; scarce and worthy of restoration.
