"Tomahawk" Style Halberd,

10.25" spear with raised edge. 5" beak with raised edge. Crescent shaped blade measures 6.25". 3.5" conical base secured by two rivets and welded to the other metal regions. 21" haft. This halberd was exhibited at the Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center in 2005 in a display entitled Clash of Empires: The British French and Indian War 1754-1763. This halberd was purchased from the Angel family of Franklin, N.C. The Angel family is the namesake of the Angel hospital. The Angel family found this ax in an Indian smokehouse around 1880. All of this information related to the purchase of this item comes with a signed letter attesting to the purchase of this halberd from the Angel family. Condition: Tip of spear is broken off. All metal surfaces are uniformly pitted.
