Très rare tapis de "La Manufacture Royale de Tapisseries de Turquie et autres Ouvrages du Levant" dite de la Savonnerie, atelier de Simon Lourdet à Chaillot, vers 1630-1632 A VERY RARE CARPET FROM "LA MANUFACTURE ROYALE DE TAPISSERIES DE TURQUIE ET AUTRES OUVRAGES DU LEVANT", CALLED SAVONNERIE, SIMON LOURDET WORKSHOP AT CHAILLOT, LOUIS XIII, CIRCA 1630-1632 Le centre du tapis est composé d'un champ à fond jaune et un décor de riches fleurs polychromes. Une bordure intermédiaire le surligne. Une large bordure à fond rouge est ornée aux écoinçons de réserves fleuries et de masques. Chaque petit côté offre une console drapée surmontée d'un panier fleuri tandis que les grands côtés sont ornés de riches enroulements fleuris ; (texture : horizontalement et verticalement environ 40 nœuds /10cm, restaurations de conservation, réduit en hauteur et largeur, présence d'abrash ou bains de teinture différents) The middle of the carpet features a rectangular field with a mustard yellow ground with exuberant polychrome flower decoration within a narrow intermediate border. The wide main border has a scarlet ground adorned in each corner with a mask-topped floral escutcheon. Each of the shorter sides features a table-top surmounted by drapery and a basket of flowers; the longer sides are adorned with richly flowering scrolls ; (texture: horizontally & vertically approximately 40 knots/10cm; some restoration; reduced in height and width; presence of abrash through use of different dyes) 592 x 386.5 cm 19.42 x 12.68 ft
